Jasmin Blasco is a French-American artist based in Los Angeles whose practice spans sound, language, film, installation, drawing, and performance. His work explores the relationship between interpretation, translation, and narration, with particular attention to how lived experience is transformed through different forms of communication.

His exhibition Vessels grew from a sketchbook practice begun in homage to the passing of his father. Starting with the idea of the urn and a rethinking of its form, the drawings gradually developed into an ongoing body of work. The exhibition is accompanied by a publication reproducing one of Blasco’s original notebooks in its entirety, co-published with Lea Bischofberger Gallery, as well as a record created by the artist whose sound forms part of the exhibition.

Blasco’s work has been presented internationally, including at the Venice Biennale, Istanbul Modern, the Victoria and Albert Museum, MAK Center for Art and Architecture, Café OTO, and Human Resources Los Angeles.
